British Association for Supported Employment (BASE)

The British Association for Supported Employment (BASE) is a national membership charity that promotes the principles and delivery of high quality, personalised employment support so that people with disabilities and/or disadvantages to access and retain employment in the open labour market. Our 190 members include local authorities, national providers, social enterprises and colleges.

Formed in 2005, BASE lobbies for improved policy and funding and provides forums for the exchange of best practice across education and employment. BASE has introduced national occupational standards for job coaches, an accredited qualification and a framework of quality standards for service providers.

BASE works with large employers to support their recruitment aims and can provide consultancy support for organisations seeking to diversify their workforce.
